|
This is a competitive league of the club for teams comprised of men and ladies. Many of the teams in this league will represent Glenmore at different outside bonspiels and branch competitions; nonetheless, there are enough levels in this league to cater to the new as well as the experienced curler.
Members get together to form a team; teams must be composed of 2 men and 2 ladies. The order of play is determined by the skip but must alternate between a man and a lady. Individual members can advise the league co-ordinator that they are available to join a team and he will make up the necessary arrangements. There is a maximum of 32 teams in the mixed ladder.
The MIXED LADDER plays on Thursdays or Wednesdays (depending on the section). Every now and then a Saturday or Sunday game may be required.
Scoring is kept according to the rules of curling. Points for wins and losses are determined in accordance with the number of sections in the league.
At the beginning of the year, teams are placed in different sections according to their performance in the previous year. New teams always enter in the lower section. There are usually three rounds of 7 games per year. Points earned in one round are used to reclassify the teams for the next round. Winners of the A section at the end of the season are declared CLUB MIXED CHAMPIONS.
After the last round, teams are again reclassified according to their performance so far and an elimination round is held in each section to determine which teams will win each Section trophy.
The league coordinator for 2009-2010 Mixed Ladder is Andrea White.
